The Third Annual Craig County Independence Day Parade will be Thursday morning, July 4. The parade will leave from the Craig County Fairgrounds at 10 a.m. and proceed down Rt. 311 to Main Street. Closing ceremonies and a “non-profit event” will be held at the new county Farmer’s Market.
The parade is once again sponsored by Craig Valley Chapter, National Daughters of the American Revolution. The chapter is providing all necessary permits for street closures as well as guest judges, prizes and announcers.
Letters have been sent to area businesses and organizations, encouraging them to support this patriotic community event. Parade participants are asked to feature a patriotic theme featuring Red White & Blue. There is no fee, but donations are welcome.
Craig Valley Chapter said that it is pleased to announce that the parade grand marshal will be recent high school graduate Karly Potter, who was awarded the Good Citizen Award by the chapter last December. Potter will ride at the front of the parade and will assist with the presentation of awards at the close.
Registration forms are available by emailing [email protected].
