John’s Creek Volunteer Fire Department is holding its Annual Hunter’s Supper Fundraising Sunday, Nov. 19 at the Forks of Johns Creek Christian Church located beside JCVFD from 5-7 p.m. to raise funds in an effort to support continuing operations: building maintenance to ensure we have a proper structure to protect our firefighting equipment, vehicles and to hold regular meetings, keep up with vehicle maintenance so they are ready to go at a moment’s notice and to keep those vehicles from freezing in the winter, update firefighter turnout gear (every ten years to maintain its protection effectiveness – equipment used by the firefighter for their protection in order to fight fires of pants, jacket, helmets, gloves, footwear and hood etc.). Turnout gear costs $5,000.00 per set for the basics. Located at 116 Dicks Creek Road, each meal is $15 and includes: pork tenderloin, side dish, roll, drink and dessert. Also, they are having a rifle raffle drawing at the end of supper. The rifle is a Mossberg “Patriot” – Bolt-Action Rifle – 243 Win with Walnut Stock with a drop box magazine, Fluted 22” Barrel, Spiral-fluted bolt, and User Adjustable Trigger. Tickets available during Hunters Supper – $5 each, or 5 for $20 or 10 for $35.
