The 2nd Annual Land Lab Ag Fair is coming up on May 6 and it looks to be even bigger than last year. It will be held at the Craig County School from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for all to enjoy this opportunity to see what is being done through the agricultural programs in our school. There will be booths with vendors, farm implements, demonstrations and more. And The Craig County Public Library will be joining the fun.
Come find us! We will have books for all ages available at our tent and a take home craft activity for kids. In addition, we will be starting to sell raffle tickets for a ‘basket’ full of Craig County produced items. Included in this will be lamb meat, rainbow trout, local honey, jams, pickles, fresh or frozen blueberries, eggs, bacon, sausage, coupon for a fresh Christmas wreath and many, many more donated items.
Tickets will be $5 each, or five for $20. Each ticket gives you two chances to win! We will begin the raffle at the Ag Fair on May 6 and the drawings will be at Fall Festival, on Oct. 14. You can get tickets at our booth, from any library board member or at the library after May 6. All proceeds go to help our library stay open and continue to serve our community!
We have a lot of farmers and gardeners in Craig County and the Ag Fair is a celebration of agriculture and the farmer, no matter the scale. We all need to value the growing of food and the growers! This raffle offers a great opportunity to try a lot of locally produced foods. So come out, enjoy the day, see your friends and neighbors and stop by The Craig County Public Library booth for your tickets and a chance to win some fabulous local produce!
A special thanks to all those who were willing to donate, we will have a list at our tent!!
