Reba Dennis Todd, 79 of New Castle, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 25. Mrs. Todd was born on May 3, 1941, in Bluefield, Virginia, and was a daughter of the late Robert O. Dennis and Lelia Hight Dennis. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Preston Todd, sister, Mildred D. Battle and brother, Robert Dennis.
Reba was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Roanoke and a retired employee of Lewis Gale Hospital and Lewis Gale Clinic in Salem. She was a long-time member of the New Castle United Methodist Church where she recently served as treasurer and was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mountain Chapter #168.
She is survived by one daughter, Beth T. Vierling of Charleston, SC, two sons, Kevin P. Todd of New Castle, Christopher A. Todd (Tammy) of New Castle, four grandchildren, Cate, Tess, Caleb and Emma, one great-grandson, George and one sister, Betty E. Dennis of New Castle. The Graveside funeral service was conducted Sunday, August 30, at 2 p.m. at the Huffman Memorial Park in New Castle with Pastor Charles Stacy officiating.
