Mike’s Dog House now has a close neighbor, Mike’s Ice House which serves a smorgasbord of ice-cold fruity flavored shaved ice.
“What a delicious treat on these hot days,” many shared recently while waiting in line.
Mike Kendall opened his hot dog house about a month ago, and now has his family engaged in the fun business as well. His wife, Dorothy, now has opened Mike’s Ice House, and it is staying as busy as the hot dog house.
Mike’s daughter and son, Maddie and Blake, have been helping also. Blake recently had his own table set up with kettle corn for sale.
The Kendall’s shared, “We have you covered with 22 different tasty fruit flavors of cold shaved ice. Come by and create your own mix today. Who knows, it may end up on the menu.”
Flavors available for purchase include: Banana, blue raspberry, cherry, coconut, cola, grape, green apple, kiwi, lemon, lime, mango, orange, passion fruit, peach, pina colada, pineapple, pink bubble gum, pink cotton candy, rootbeer, strawberry, vanilla and watermelon.
Several combinations are available: Bahama Mama (watermelon and pina colada), Banago (mango and banana), Frog in a Blender (green apple and cherry), Mai Tai (pineapple, orange and lemon), Blue Hawaii (blue raspberry and coconut), Cherry bomb (cherry and vanilla), Sunrise (cherry, lemon and orange), SpongeBob (orange and pineapple), Mermaid (lime and orange) and Grape Ambrosia (grape, pineapple and orange), just to name a few.
A small size is $2.50, a medium is $3.25 and a large is $4.00.
Hours of operation at the Ice House are noon to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and for now, noon to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Currently, only cash is being accepted, however, they can take charge cards at Mike’s Dog House for purchases.
Everyone is invited to try the flavored shaved ice and maybe enjoy the nice Town Park next door, as the hot days of summer continue to heat up.
