As the entrees and trophy winners were being called, Dudding had Lucas hand them the trophies. Many drivers bent down to meet him at his level express a big ‘thank-you.’ He always answered back, “You are welcome.” Dudding added, “it just tickled me to watch him give those trophies out. That meant more to me than anything.” Dudding likes to live his life by one quote: “Always smile back at a child to let their inner child live on. That way, they can still believe that the world is good.”
