by Elizabeth Gilbert
If you are looking for a soothing book that gives you hope and inspiration, then Big Magic is a title I would recommend for you. Elizbeth Gilbert is the author of Eat, Pray, Love, a book that sat on the New York Times Best Seller list for three years.
Her book Big Magic aims to guide you to find and polish the “strange jewels” of creativity hidden inside you. She guides you to use your creativity productively by using examples from her own experiences and the experiences of friends. As another reviewer explained: “She shows us how to tackle what we most love, and how to face down what we most fear. She discusses the attitudes, approaches and habits we need to live our most creative lives.”
Although Big Magic is a self-help book about creativity, it does not make you feel obligated to be Picasso. I enjoyed the audiobook version read by the author herself. Elizbeth’s voice was a soothing comfort that also provided moments of humor on a long road trip. The Audio Book will be available soon at the Craig County Public Library.
