On Thursday, January 18, the Botetourt/Craig/Roanoke FSA County Committee held its 2018 Organizational Meeting. At this meeting, the new County Committee members met to elect a Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson for 2018. The balloting results are as follows:
- Ann G. Harrell, Chairperson (Craig County)
- Patrick J. Ryan, Sr., Vice-Chairperson (Botetourt County)
Other members serving for 2018 are Ned B. Jeter, II, (Botetourt County) and J. David Poage (Roanoke County). The county office congratulates each member of the County Committee who was elected to serve by the voting of their peers in the farming community. County Committee members are a critical component of the day-to-day operations of FSA. They help deliver programs at the county level and work to serve the needs of local producers.
The County Committee will meet the third Wednesday of each month during the 2018 calendar year. The next County Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. in the Bonsack USDA Service Center’s conference room. All County Committee regular session meetings are open to the public.
