The All-Pioneer District football team was announced last week and Craig County had 10 total selections, including three on the first team.
Craig had three players named to the All-Pioneer first team defense, Dalton McPherson, Ben Deplazes and Kyle Sloss. All three of those players also made the second team for Region C, which was announced this week, at the same positions.
Craig had four on the All-Pioneer second team, including two more on the defense as Dakota Henderson was selected at linebacker and Clay Spence was named on the defensive line. Offensive second team selections were Deplazes at receiver and McPherson as the “all purpose” player.
Two more Rockets received “Honorable Mention.” Chase Huffman was chosen on the offensive line and Matt Huffman was named on both sides of the ball, as an end on defense and a tight end on offense.
The first team offense and defense had 32 total selections. Narrows dominated the team with 12 total first teams, including seven on the offense alone. Covington had seven first teamers, with four on the defense, and Parry McCluer had six named, including five on offense. Eastern Montgomery and Bath County had two first team selections each.
