Vintage and classic vehicles will “cruise in” to New Castle on Saturday, August 26, for the Fourth Annual New Castle Cruise-In. Cars, trucks, farm tractors and motorcycles – maybe even a 1950s bicycle – will line Main Street between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Not only will there be many vehicles to admire, but Main Street businesses will also be open, offering arts, crafts, antiques, “general store” merchandise and home-style cooking.
Enjoy a breakfast in the dining room of the historic Old Brick Hotel. Members of the Craig County Historical Society will be serving a meal consisting of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, apples and choice of beverage at a cost of $10.00. Members will also be selling their history books and other genealogical resources – a great way to learn more about the history of Craig County.
Festivities for the event will include music by local DJ, David Givens of Dave’s Live Sound, raffles, a 50/50 drawing, door prizes for Cruise-In participants, food at local restaurants and a food “wagon”, just generally a fun time in a small town.
Those planning to display a vehicle are asked to arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. There is no entry fee but donations are encouraged. Volunteers are still needed to help with raffles, to give directions and to provide general information. To volunteer or for more information on the Cruise-In, contact Jason Hutchinson at HutchOnMain, Main Street in New Castle, or by calling 540-312-3941.
The event is sponsored by the Craig County Business Association and the Craig County Tourism Commission. All proceeds benefit Craig County Emergency Services.
