Martha Hannah Rowan, 86, died Saturday July 22, 2017, in Bel Air, MD, with her children by her side. Martha was born in Slatyfork, WV, in 1930 to Robert and Cleo Hannah.
Soon thereafter, they moved to Oriskany VA where she spent the majority of the childhood. Martha left Oriskany to attend Charleston General Hospital nursing school, where she graduated in 1951.
Martha’s specialty was the neonatal unit, where she nursed many babies back to health. She married Bill Rowan in 1957. Mrs. Rowan is survived by her son, Eric Rowan and family; Tamara, Lee, McKenzie and JaKobe.,as well as her daughter, Kay Johnson and her children Nathan, Shawn and Timothy Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Rowan and Grandson Kyle Johnson. In lieu of flowers, Martha asked that donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
