The Craig Family Farm Festival will be held from 10 a.m. until dark on July 15, 2017, at the New Castle Fairgrounds on Rt. 311 on the East side of town.
Events this year will include demonstrations, venders, crafts and activities for children and adults. The New Castle Fire Department will be on hand to explain fire safety and prevention. A blacksmith demo, and crafts in the morning, and a police dog demo at 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Musicians are invited to join in on the Jam Session between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Youth Talent Hour Showcase will be from noon to 1 p.m. Call 864-5812 to get a time slot. Showcase your talent for the community, for youth through age 25.
One of the more popular events is the Youth Livestock Show that will begin after 4:00 pm. Young people in 4-H and FFA from the county and surrounding areas show sheep and calves. Events and displays will be open until 3:00 pm. Children’s activities are planned by the Craig County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee. Crafts, information display, equipment and autos will also be displayed. Food will be offered by the Craig County Young Farmers. Admission is $1 for adults, and free for children under age 12.
