Delores Lee Frith, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017, at the age of 77. She was born in 1939 in Martinsburg, WV, where she spent her childhood. She married the love of her life in 1967, Ronald Frith, whom she affectionately referred to as “Ronnie”.
While Ronnie was employed as an airplane mechanic at Federal Express the two lived all over the United States, including Mississippi, North Carolina, and Washington, before finally retiring to New Castle, VA.
Delores wore many hats throughout her life, including school bus driver and real estate agent, but her favorite role was as a homemaker for her beloved Ronnie and her two children, Kim and Ron Jr. She ruled her home with an iron fist, but with lots of love. Delores was a top-notch chef, able to whip up anything delicious at a moment’s notice. She had an amazing green thumb and loved to spend the day tending to her beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed puzzles, horse racing, politics, coin collecting and traveling. Her furthest adventure from home was a New Year’s trip to Italy to bring in 2008. Delores had a knack for photography and was rarely seen without her camera. Her favorite subjects were her grandchildren, of whom she left a trove of wonderful pictures to remember her by.
Delores was preceded in death by her mother, Mona Ida Gray and her father, Homer Gray, Sr., and her sons, Robert Everitts Jr., who died as an infant, and Ronald Eugene Frith, Jr. She leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Ronald Eugene Frith, Sr., her daughter, Kimberly (Frith) Miller, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous other extended family.
The family wishes to thank Lewis Gale Medical Center for the care they provided over the course of her brief illness.
