The Craig County Lady Rockets 12 and Under softball team is competing in the Roanoke Area Youth Softball Association(RAYSA) tournament this week. Most of the games are being held at the James I. Moyer Complex in Salem.
The Lady Rockets were scheduled to open Monday night with an 8 pm game against the Salem 12U team. The winner advanced to a Tuesday evening game against the South County Thunder, while the loser didn’t play again until tonight, Wednesday, in a losers’ bracket game. Other teams in the tournament are the Vinton All-Stars and the South County Sluggers.
The championship game is scheduled for Frdiay night at 6 pm at the Moyer Complex. If the team coming from the losers’ bracket wins that game, then a second game will be played at 8 pm.
The RAYSA event also includes tournaments for 10 and Under and 16 and Under teams, but Craig County does not have teams entered.
