The Craig County club soccer team hosted Dayspring Christian Academy last Thursday. Leading up to a weather delay, the Rockets trailed only 1-0 on the strength of good defense and several threatening runs by their forwards to keep Dayspring off balance. After the weather delay, however, the Lions’ offense got going and finished out the game with five additional goals for a 6-0 victory. Rockets’ goalkeeper Josh Menezes had 21 saves in the match. The Craig County team is playing an abbreviated schedule this season as a co-ed team, with hopes for fielding both a boys and girls team next season.
