Christiansburg High won the girls’ team championship with 77 points and the Spartans were just one point behind with 76. Giles was third with 70 and Glenvar was 12th with 17 points.
The Salem girls 4×100 relay team of Te’asia Thomas ,Tawni Hunt, Te’arah Thomas and ShaCoya Price took first, as did the spring medley team of Price, Hunt, Raniyah Majied and Janae Blakeney. The 4×400 relay with Raniyah Majied, Ellie Look, Hunt and Janae Blakeney also took first and the 4×800 relay of Madison Baxley, Alexis Stover, Ellie Look and Alyssa Ingerson was third.
Individually, Hannah Moran won the 1,600 and 3,200. Price was second in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump and Blakeney was second in the 200.
For Glenvar, Rachel Milirons was second in both the 1,600 and 3,200. She shaved 30 seconds off her PR time in the 3,200 with a time of 11:36.
Covington won the boys’ team title with 75 points, followed by Patrick Henry of Glade Spring at 71.33 and Pulaski County with 69. Glenvar came in seventh with 31.33 points.
Glenvar’s Kilian McCroskey was first in the 400 and Dustin Wade took first in the 800 with a personal best time of 2:01. The 4×400 relay team also took first with Wade, McCroskey, Peyton Fletcher and Brady Loder.
Salem scored a point in the 110 hurdles when Jeremiah Wilson took sixth in a time of 17.75.
This week Glenvar will run in the Buffalo Invitational on Friday and the Spartans will go to the Joe Curcio Invitational at Liberty University on Saturday.
