Atmos Energy announces the promotion of Kevin Dobbs to President of the Kentucky/Mid-States Division located in the company’s Cool Springs/Franklin Tennesee location. Dobbs replaces Kevin Akers, who recently was promoted to the Atmos Energy corporate office in Dallas, Texas as Senior Vice President of Safety and Enterprise Services.
Dobbs brings many years of experience in all aspects of operations. His career started in Franklin, Kentucky with Western Kentucky Gas in 1985 as an Apprentice where he gained valuable experience in service, compliance and construction.
In 1993, he moved into a Supervisor role relocating several times to Shelbyville, Danville and back to Bowling Green, Kentucky. In 1999, he was named Operations Manager of the Owensboro area and in 2003 assumed the additional operations of Madisonville, Princeton and Hopkinsville. In 2007, Dobbs was promoted to Vice President of Operations for the Northern Region of the Kentucky/Mid-States Division. Dobbs’ division includes the Atmos Energy service territories located in Kentucky, middle and east Tennessee, and Virginia.
Dobbs, a native of Franklin, Kentucky, holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and biophysics from Western Kentucky University. He has been active in the community working with the United Way and YMCA organizations. Kevin and his wife, Amy, have two sons, Jeremy and Jordon.
