Bluefield College has been named one of the best colleges in Virginia by Virginia Living magazine, which included BC in a list of “Top High Schools and Colleges 2016” in its annual “State of Education” issue.
Virginia Living’s “Top High Schools and Colleges” list recognizes “innovation and excellence in secondary and higher education in Virginia” across five categories of consideration: arts and humanities; science, math and technology; capital improvements; research opportunities and mentorships; and athletics. Bluefield College was recognized in particular for its excellence in the area of arts and humanities.
“Bluefield College has a rich history in the arts and humanities dating back to our founding,” said BC president Dr. David Olive. “We are honored and humbled by this recognition of being identified as one of the Commonwealth’s top schools in this category, and it is a reflection of our quality faculty who strive to transform the hearts and minds of our students in preparing them for vocation and service.”
Featuring in-depth and positive coverage of news and trends in secondary and higher education, Virginia Living’s “State of Education” features not only a list of the public and private high schools and colleges “leading the way in education innovation around the state,” but also evidence as to why “Virginia’s schools are “consistently ranked among the country’s best,” according to the magazine’s editors.
